Why it exists
People with relationships already have a lawyer.
Someone knows whom to call, which documents matter, which deadline is real, and when a matter needs action now. People without those relationships can be technically eligible for help and still remain outside the system.
Access is not a phone number or a clinic listing. It is the movement from confusion to a trustworthy assessment, from that assessment to the right pathway, and from the pathway to a real next step.

Clients know what happens next, and who owns that step.

DLG listens to communities and existing providers before deciding what to offer.
Place, chosen carefully
Geography follows evidence, not the strongest story.
Early planning centered on Napier. A 2025 collaboration among Bass, Berry & Sims, Legal Aid Society, and the Pruitt Branch Library now offers recurring legal access there. DLG will not recreate that work. Franklin and Williamson County warrant serious diligence because need can hide inside prosperity. The first site is not chosen until providers, courts, and community partners say where a gap actually is.
